About Us
Welcome to our local non-profit organization, where we believe in the power of personalized education for every child. We are dedicated to filling the gaps in today's educational experience, offering a wide range of opportunities tailored to meet the unique needs and aspirations of individual students. Whether you're seeking socialization, experiential project-based learning, a strong sense of community, or a break from traditional classroom settings, we provide resources that cater to the specific requirements of your family. Our organization proudly serves Cowlitz County and beyond, ensuring that each child's educational journey is embraced and nurtured, empowering them to thrive and succeed.
Why Brave at Heart?
We offer two secular co-ops, Wild School and Riverside STEAM Club, for registered families as well as our casual park meetup group Raised Wild in Cowlitz County.
Our programs also participate in monthly activities, such as field trips, equinox/solstice celebrations, and adventure days exploring new places.
Last summer, we had a delightful visit to a farm, where we learned about medicinal herbs often considered weeds, interacted with friendly sheep, watched blacksmithing demos, enjoyed some garden tea, and explored a redwood.
In the fall, we visited a local pumpkin patch and hosted our special seasonal celebration for the Autumn Equinox.
We believe these experiences will be both educational and fun for your kids, allowing them to connect with nature and their peers while learning in a hands-on, interactive environment.
Our programs are designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and inspire a love for learning in a natural and inclusive environment.
Our co-op firmly adheres to anti-discrimination policies, ensuring that everyone feels valued and respected regardless of religion, homeschooling philosophy, race, gender identity, and more.
We are not associated with any religious group and welcome all. It is our hope to unite people from all walks of life into a thriving community, where we can grow and learn together, not in spite of our differences, but BECAUSE of our differences. When we truly open our hearts and minds to one another and really seek to understand, that’s when we can start healing our community and society.
We hope to welcome you and your kids to our supportive community of diverse families where we are building lasting friendships and connections while sharing a love for the outdoors and learning.
